Following a gig as a background singer for Liza Minnelli, the musical star, who studied at the Boston Conservatory, relocated to Berlin. There he made his European debut as Quasimodo in the world premiere of »The Hunchback of Notre Dame« in 1999. Shortly thereafter, he was drawn to Vienna, where he has since performed the leading roles in plays including »Rudolf – The Mayerling Affair« and »Jesus Christ Superstar«, as well as Krolock in »Dance of the Vampires« and Ché in »Evita« (Ronacher Vienna). Drew Sarich has also excelled on the international stage, portraying Jean Valjean in »Les Misérables« in London’s West End and on Broadway. In 2012, he starred as the boxer Rocky Balboa in the world premiere of »Rocky – The Musical« in Hamburg. For his title performance in »Vivaldi – The Fifth Season« he was awarded the German and Austrian Music Theatre Prize. Drew Sarich has released several studio albums, most recently »Wishes/Wonders« in 2021. Starting in autumn 2022, he will appear in the travesty classic »La Cage aux Folles« at Volksoper Wien.
