Hook
Suite
But what if this boy has »retired« and grown up after all? What if he is needed in Neverland again because his old enemy Captain Hook has reappeared? These questions are the basis of Spielberg’s film Hook from 1991, which stars Robin Williams in the lead role. In his performance, the motif of »refusing to grow up« surfaces more than once. The score was composed by John Williams, who is seen by many as one of the best living composers, not only because of his extremely successful collaborations with Spielberg. Williams, who was the main conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra for many years, wrote the piece Flight to Neverland especially for the concert halls of this world. A musical flight to Neverland, which does not only transport the eternal dream of flying, but also an echo of the feeling that always draws us back to the places that defined our childhood.
