In a career that spans six decades, Williams has composed many of the most famous film scores in Hollywood history, including Star Wars, Superman, Home Alone, Harry Potter I – III, Seven years in Tibet and all but two of Steven Spielberg‘s feature films including the Indiana Jones series, Schindler‘s List, E.T. – the Extra-TerrestrialJurassic Park and Jaws

He has furthermore composed theme music for four Olympic Games, numerous television series and concert pieces. For the inauguration of Barack Obama, he wrote the classical quartet Air and simple gifts, interpreted by Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma. 

Williams is a five-time winner of the Academy Award and received 45 Academy Award nominations as well as 21 Grammy Awards.
