Valentina Nafor-nita
Valentina Naforniţă was born in Glodeni, Moldova, and
studied at the Ștefan Neaga Music College, Chisinau, and at the Bucharest
Conservatory of Music. She has performed around the world, and from 2011 to
2016 was an Ensemble Member of the Vienna State Opera – playing roles including
Susanna, Oscar, Musetta, Marzelline and Norina. In 2011 the young singer won
the world-renowned BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, taking first
prize as well as the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize. Other awards include
the Young Opera Singers of Europe competition, the Romanian Orange Prize for
young musicians and the Hariclear Darclée competition.
