The choir NEUE WIENER STIMMEN (translates to “New
Viennese Voices“) conducted by Christoph Wigelbeyer rehearses weekly in order
to get to know and perfect a diverse musical repertoire. Additionally, every
singer enjoys vocal training on a regular basis. The singers ranging from the
age of 16 to 26 come from various countries as well as all parts of
Austria. What connects them is the shared
love and enjoyment of music and singing together. This leads to the quality and
joy onstage that the audiences know and love.
The highlights of the past few years include Hollywood in Vienna from 2012 to 2016,
the opening ceremony of the Summa Cum
Laude International Youth Music Festival in the Vienna Stephansdom with
more than 1.000 young adults from all over the world. Additionally, the choir
performed at the Life Ball in 2014
and 2015 and took part in the concert Best
of John Williams in February and December of 2016. Other highlights include
performances in the Schauspielhaus Wien,
as well as offering a musical opening to TEDxVienna.
This fall, the choir will be part of a production of
Leonard Bernstein’s “MASS”
In their 2019 concert “(A)LIVE!” they will exclusively
perform pieces by contemporary Austrian composers.
