Fankhauser
Lena Fankhauser is a native of Montreal, Canada. She has graduated from New York’s Juilliard School with a Master of Music degree. She then completed the post-graduate course at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor Thomas Riebl.
She performed at the Vienna Volksoper, played together with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, the Klangforum, the Camerata Salzburg and is a member of the Haydn Philharmonie, the Camerata Schulz and the recently founded Chineke! Orchestra London.
She performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Carinthian Summer, the Glatt&Verkehrt Festival, the Styriarte, the Bregenz Festival as well as the Danube Festival, and she also founded two own chamber music festivals, one in Bad Ischl and one in Mariazell.
Miss Fankhauser performed in several renowned concert halls worldwide such as New York’s Carnegie Hall, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, the Royal Festival Hall London and during the BBC Proms in Royal Albert Hall.
Furthermore Lena Fankhauser participated in Alicia Key’s film score of the movie ALI and was a studio musician at recordings of the Blue Note Label together with Bob Belden and Joe Lovano. In New York she performed at broadway shows like the musical Into the Woods.
She had artistic cooperations with artists like Erwin Schrott, Manu Delago, Wolfgang Puschnig and the Vienna Soul band 5Achterln in Ehren. Currently she performes as part of the string quartet in Nestroy’s Liebesgeschichten und Heiratssachen at the Vienna Burgtheater. Since 2013 Lena Fankhauser is a member of the Koehne Quartet.
