Judith
Hill

Judith Hill was born in Los Angeles as the daughter of Michiko, a Japanese pianist, and Robert »Peewee« Hill, a R&B bassist and producer. She studied music composition in Southern California. After her studies, she spent some time in France before returning to California to make a career as a singer-songwriter.

She subsequently shared the stage with world stars such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Josh Groban. In 2009, she was selected as a singer for Michael Jackson’s planned comeback tour »This Is It«. The tour was cancelled when Michael Jackson passed away in the same year. She performed alongside the entire »This Is It« crew at the official memorial service for the »King of Pop« at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. She garnered global attention by singing »Heal the World« in memory of Michael Jackson. She also made a name for herself by participating in US casting show »The Voice« and contributing to the Oscar-winning documentary 20 FEET FROM STARDOM. The latter earned her a Grammy in the »Best Music Film« category in 2015. Rolling Stone magazine praised Hill for her »outstanding powerhouse vocals«. Hill also worked closely with Prince, her partner at the time. He co-produced her debut album »Back In Time« in 2015.

In 2018, Hill introduced her album »Golden Child«, which the multi-instrumentalist wrote, arranged, produced, mixed, and released herself. Yet again, she made an impact with impressive and distinct vocals, as well as her excellent piano and guitar skills. The album was subsequently transformed into a conceptual stage show, which premiered in Los Angeles in December 2018. The proceeds went to disadvantaged youths in Los Angeles. In 2012, Hill was a guest at the »Life Ball« in Vienna, where she took to the stake alongside Natalia Kelly, Melody Angel, and Truth Hurts to perform that year’s official »Life Ball« song »Blindfold«.
