Martin Gellner, a native of Vienna, is best known for his versatility as a composer, arranger, conductor and record producer. Martin studied classical guitar, conducting and composition at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

In 1987 Martin and his business partner, Werner Stranka, formed the successful music production company Beat4feet Productions, record label Diversity Recordings and Beat4Feet Publishing. Their collaboration has taken them around the world working with artist such as Falco, Dave Stewart, Udo Lindenberg, Whoopie Goldberg, The Scorpions, Ledisi, Ute Lemper, Adam Lambert, Cheyenne Jackson, Jonas Kaufmann & Wolfgang Ambros to name a few. Their music has been on the charts in Europe and the USA and has received four gold records to their credit.

In the musical theatre branch, Martin has been the musical director, conductor, and arranger for over a dozen successful stage productions such as Kiss of the Spiderwomen, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Fame, Footloose, Tommy, Aida and Udo Lindenberg's Hinterm Horizont.

With his writing partners Werner Stranka and Kim Duddy, he created two award-winning musicals, Carmen Cubana and Rockville, that have performed throughout Europe.

Martin & Werner are contributing composers and music supervisors for Vienna’s annual Life Ball, one of the most significant HIV/AIDS charity events in the world.

Martin has collaborated as conductor and orchestrator with The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Orchester Wiener Akademie, City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Choir and the Symphony Orchestra and Choir of the Bolshoi Theatre Belarus.

In 2013 Martin joined the team of Hollywood in Vienna and had enjoyed his work with James Horner, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Alexandre Desplat & Danny Elfman.

To date, Martin has been fortunate to be the music supervisor for the ongoing symphonic tour - The World of Hans Zimmer. He is thrilled to conduct this evenings award ceremony honoring Hans Zimmer with the Max Steiner Award putting him in line with our great countryman.

Martin lives with his wife Kim Duddy part-time in Minneapolis/Minnesota and Vienna.
